The Luxembourg Centre for European Law and the Jean Monnet Centre of Excellence (Robert Schuman Initiative) at the University of Luxembourg hosted a two-day conference titled From CMU to SIU: Stalled European Financial Integration on 5–6 March 2026. This event was organised in partnership with the DCU led Jean Monnet Network PROSPER, bringing together leading scholars to examine the political, economic, and legal dimensions of financial market integration in the European Union.
The Day 1 programme is structured around the following thematic panels:
- Conceptualising Financial Market Integration
- Widening the Parameters of European Financial Integration
- Building European Supervision to Support Integration
- Legal Complexities and Lacunae in Financial Market Integration
Across these sessions, participants explored developments in areas including Capital Markets Union, financial supervision, green finance, digital infrastructure, supranational debt issuance, and the evolving regulatory architecture underpinning European financial integration.
