Stefanos Katsoulis holds a Bachelor’s Degree in International and European Economic Studies and a Master’s Degree in International Economic Relations from the University of Macedonia (Thessaloniki, Greece). He is currently a PhD student researching the topic “World Trade Organization and Regional Trade Agreements. Overlapping Competences and Conflicts of Jurisdiction in the Context of the Application of Article XXIV of GATT”.

He is the President of the Thessaloniki Youth Club for UNESCO. He also serves as the Head of the Scientific Committee of the House of Europe in Rhodes, the Observatory of Entrepreneurship and Sustainable Development, and the EUSYP Think Tank on Strategies and Policies on Youth in the EU. Previously, he was the Project Academic Coordinator of the Jean Monnet Project “Strategies and Policies on Youth in the European Union (EUSYP)” (2020–2022).

His research interests focus on the laws, policies, and practices of international organizations, particularly the UN, UNESCO, WTO, EU, and the Council of Europe, with a special emphasis on the EU’s external relations. He has authored papers and co-edited collective volumes in these areas. Over the years, he has been actively involved in various EU-funded projects, including Erasmus+ Jean Monnet Actions, Interreg, and Twinning initiatives.

 

He works in the International and Public Relations Department at the University of Macedonia. He is also the administrative associate for the Master’s Programme in Human Rights and Migration Studies, as well as for the Master’s Programme in European Policies on Youth, Entrepreneurship, Education, and Culture. Deeply appreciating the importance of simulation-based learning processes, he has been the organizing coordinator of the “Thessaloniki International Student Model United Nations” (ThessISMUN) since 2009. Additionally, he has been a member of the Organizing Committee of the “Rhodes Model Regional Cooperation” (Rhodes MRC) since 2010.
