Ricardo Vasquez Dazarola

Ricardo is a legal scholar specialising in the intersection of law and technology. He holds a Bachelor of Legal Sciences (LL.B.) from Universidad Adolfo Ibáñez in Chile and graduated cum laude with an Advanced LL.M. in Law and Digital Technologies from Universiteit Leiden in the Netherlands.

Currently, Ricardo is a PhD fellow at the Faculty of Law, University of Copenhagen, where he is affiliated with the Center for European, Comparative, and Constitutional Legal Studies (CECS). His doctoral research within CECS explores the regulatory responses in EU law to address the artificial amplification of disinformation on social media during elections. Alongside his research, Ricardo teaches the course “Human Rights, Democracy, and Digital Technology”.

Before pursuing his PhD, Ricardo served as an External Policy Advisor in the Senate of the Republic of Chile and practised law at an international law firm.
