Maria Júlia Mendonça is a postdoctoral researcher in the Public Finance and Tax Law
department at Pompeu Fabra University (Barcelona).

She earned her Law degree from the University of Lisbon, obtained a master’s degree in
Tax Law from the Catholic University of Portugal, and completed her PhD at Pompeu
Fabra University, where she also teaches tax law.

Prior to her academic career, she worked as a tax lawyer in Portugal. She was also a
Schuman trainee in the European Parliament’s Subcommittee on Tax Matters.
