Honorary President of Université Paris-Est, Alexandre Maitrot de la Motte is a Professor at the University of Paris-Est Créteil and a Partner at Simon Associés.
In France as well as in foreign universities where he is regularly invited, Alexandre Maitrot de la Motte teaches mainly European tax law, international tax law, personal taxation and local taxation. He has devoted numerous articles in France and abroad to tax law and European law and is the author of several personal works, including a Handbook on European Union Tax Law (Manuel de Droit Fiscal de l’Union Européenne, Bruylant, 2024), a Treaty on European Union Tax Law (Droit Fiscal de l’Union Européenne, Bruylant, 2012), the third edition of which was published in February 2022, Droit Fiscal (PUF, 2011) and Souveraineté fiscale et construction communautaire (LGDJ, 2005). He has also edited numerous collective works.
Scientific Director of the Revue de Droit Fiscal and the Juris-classeur Fiscal, Alexandre Maitrot de la Motte has also been a member of the editorial boards of several international journals (Middle East and North Africa Business Law Review; and Revue Tunisienne de Fiscalité), and a member of the academic committee of the European Association of Tax Law Professors (2009-2021).
